JOB TITLE: Service Staff-Food Service Worker         STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Center Director                                 

GRADE LEVEL/SALARY: 1-$15.48/HR; $857.36/Bi-Weekly; 180 days

 

Position Summary:

Support the classroom staff with: meal pick-up and delivery, preparation of snacks, possible janitorial duties, classroom activities. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • General understanding of Performance Standards, Head Start policies, the care of young children and Partnership policies.
  • Able to clearly communicate effectively.
  • Good organization skills, dependent worker, team oriented and resourceful.
  • Experience work in food service/prep, cooking and/or delivery
  • Able to gain additional skills and knowledge through training, experience and work session with Nutrition Resource Specialist
  • Must not be a parent of child in the classroom unless approved by the Nutrition Resource Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Call in count for meals daily
  • Meal pick-up and delivery of breakfast and lunch
  • Clean up after meals and garbage disposal
  • Clean food containers daily
  • Attends area meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Work Relationships and Scope:

Food Service Worker reports directly to the Center Director for daily work issues and works with the classroom staff to promote the success of the position.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a kitchen/classroom setting with minimal safety issues. This position requires sitting, standing, bending, and minimal lifting. This position requires a clear drug test, a non smoker, valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, ABI/FBI Background Check, physical and TB test.
