GRADE LEVEL/SALARY: 19/$15.27/Hour                       NUMBER OF WORKING DAYS: 260

Position Summary

This key position in the Fiscal Office will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Resource Specialist-Fiscal (RS-F) will work within each function of the Fiscal department to assist and support the ongoing work of the Department. This individual will also be responsible for performing daily administrative duties and there will be an expectation of learning the critical tasks of each area. The RS-F will perform accounting/fiscal department duties to assist in the normal, daily business operations of the Partnership.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in general accounting functions
  • Assist in all Accounts Payable Operations.
  • Assist in all Payroll Operations.
  • Assist Asset Manager.
  • Balance monthly bank statements.
  • Scan, organize, audit and maintain digital files of the Fiscal Department and Housing Portfolio.
  • Assists in preparation of the operating budgets.
  • Enter data, generate and monitor reports of the Fiscal Department.
  • Compile outgoing mail and deliver for mailing. Receive mail daily and distribute accordingly.
  • Responsible to keep a supply of certain office supplies / copier paper for Central Office.
  • Work with copier provider to ensure maintenance is performed on copiers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Model and understand the vision, mission and values of the Partnership.
  • Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Work Relationships and Scope:

Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Daily interaction with Fiscal Staff. Regular interaction with CEO, Human Resources Staff, Leadership Team and other Partnership staff.

Measures of Performance:

Daily – Process outgoing and incoming mail. Organize and reconcile accounts payable invoices. Assign purchase orders. General accounting functions.

Weekly - Assist in gathering EWS timekeeping information, compiling, reviewing and monitoring payroll. Preparing and monitoring reports within Fiscal Department. Digital file maintenance.

Monthly – Reconcile and organize vendor statements and invoices for payment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Associate's degree in Accounting or Business required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred. Proven experience in a comprehensive office work environment that involved accounting practices and techniques. Proven experience and ability to read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures involved in fiscal recordkeeping and accounting functions. Proven experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Accurate, detail oriented, dependable, able to use advanced digital systems to accomplish results. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office setting with minimal safety issues. Frequent travel is required to national training workshops, meetings and Partnership sites throughout Alabama, the southeast and within the US, which will require occasional air travel. This position requires sitting, standing, bending, and minimal lifting. This position requires a valid driver’s license, valid insurance and a safe driving record.
