STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: CFO    

DATE:  November 2019

GRADE LEVEL/SALARY:  19 / $15.95 per hour

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist  is primarily responsible for the oversight, inventory and long term care and maintenance of all assets utilized by the Company. This position will report to the CFO and work with all business units to understand the existing properties, their status and condition, and ultimate disposition. The Inventory Control Specialist will develop and have available a complete, current inventory in an electronic data base. The Inventory Control Specialist will work closely with Team Leaders and Facility Team members to develop policies and processes to protect the investment of the company in non-expendable equipment, facilities, vehicles and other valuable assets of the Partnership. The Inventory Control Specialist will make recommendations concerning the condition of our property and the near term and long term decisions that are appropriate to extract the maximum value from the properties of the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a complete inventory of all non-expendable property.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the established database.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory of all fixed assets.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Facility Team, and Licensing RS to determine condition and state of all property.
  • Develop near-term and long range plans to determine whether property stays in inventory and continually maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a system for managing and storage of surplus property.
  • Develop and maintain a historical data base on all inventory.
  • Develop and monitor a maintenance schedule for vehicles.
  • Research and recommend appropriate decisions concerning existing inventory.
  • Research and recommend appropriate replacement decisions for inventory based on company needs.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of existing inventory and current use of inventory to ensure maximum value to the agency.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Model and understand the Vision, Mission and Values of the Partnership.
  • Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.


Work Relationships and Scope:

Reports directly to the CFO. Regular interaction with other Fiscal Staff, all Team Leaders, Facility Team, RS Licensing and vendors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

AA or BS in related field preferred. High School and some college or technical coursework required. Warehouse and/or inventory experience preferred. Proven proficient user of technology to achieve results. Ability to manage large amounts of information and tasks while serving and responding to emerging employee issues. Experience in dealing with contractors and vendors. Experience with data systems to catalog information. Experience planning, directing and completing complex projects in a defined time frame.

 

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office and warehouse setting with minimal safety issues. Frequent travel to various locations throughout north Alabama. This position requires sitting, standing, and bending. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires a valid driver's license, valid insurance and safe driving record. This position will be required to obtain a forklift certification.
